ON THESE GROUNDS explores the landscape and ripple of an explosive 2015 viral video that emerged from a classroom in Columbia, South Carolina, propelling us all into a national conversation about youth, authority and race. When a White policeman throws a Black teenager from her school desk, one woman uproots her life to help the girl, face the officer and dismantle the system that allows incidents such as this one to occur in schools across the country.
